Pongal Festival

Pongal is similar to Thanksgiving, centers around the harvest, family is the center, kids usually have lot of fun due to sugary food and munching on sugar cane. I did enjoy during my younger days munching on the sugar cane.

This is my newest oil painting which shows the highlights of Fort Mohave County mountains. One may recognize the scene from visiting Laughlin Nevada. One can see the Spirit Mountains, Finger Mountain, Elephant tooth and upside down Snow Cone Mountain. Loved the scenery.

Chola's empire encompassed all the way to Singapore. The name itself suggests the south India's influence in southeast Asia. Bragatheswara Temple still stands tall in Thanjavore which was from the 11th century. The above painting is my take on the original done by the master painters in Chola's period. I enjoyed painting this piece to my likings.

Hindu Festival

Streets are always lively and there are no idle moments. Beliefs are respected and entertaining in Chennai (Formerly known as Madras). Life experiences one cannot deny, growing up with purity in mind, faith....right or wrong who is to say, I am so glad to experience those moments. Being there at that moment means a lot in my personal well being and glad I had an opportunity to share it with others.

My play grounds

My favorite play grounds making clay Ganesh figures under the coconut trees. Climbing the vines and watch the street in action was my favorite activities. Those were the care free days.

Childhood Memories

Fun Moments from the Childhood are so precious and can be with us for ever. Of course I did not have camera to take pictures of those fun moments and did not have access to one either. But memories are still there. Through memories I am beginning bring some of them slowly but surely. I am glad I can share them with everyone and the one's who may be familiar with the area could bring special feeling and take them back to earlier times.
